Reclaiming policy in Persistent Volume in Kubernetes

What happens with the underlying PV when the PVC is deleted? You can choose what is to happen to the Volume by using the option persistentVolumeReclaimPolicy:

• Retain. Default option - the PV will remain until it is manually deleted by the administrator. It is not available for the reuse by the other Claims
• Delete. It can be deleted automatically and freeing up the storage
• Recycle. The data in the Volume will be wiped for making it available for other Claims
