Ansible is an opensource configuration management, software provisioning and application deployment toolset created by Michael DeHaan in 2012.
It was later acquired by RedHat Inc. in 2015 and since then RedHat Inc. and opensource community had further developed and improved the platform.
Ansible is a multitude of tools, modules and software defined infrastructure - they are collectively known the Ansible toolset.
